Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has seized the Anioma Cultural Festival Day to urge the ethnic nationality to deploy culture as a symbol of identity and strategic instrument for unity. Also, the governor said culture can serve as for the overall development of the state and nation-building.
He said under his M.O.R.E Agenda, he had deliberately promoted initiatives that preserve cultural heritage and translate it into tangible economic value, particularly for the youths and women.
Oborevwori, represented by his Deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme, flanked by the President OFAAC, Arc. Kester Ifeadi, during the 20th celebration of the Anioma Cultural Festival, put together by the Organisation for the Advancement of Anioma Culture (OFAAC) in Asaba yesterday, said his administration has remained resolute and committed to leveraging on culture as a catalyst for development.
He said OFAAC has unwaveringly displayed commitment to safeguarding and projecting the rich cultural heritage of the Anioma people. He said, “two decades of sustained dedication by OFAAC to the preservation and promotion of Anioma culture is a milestone worthy of commendation and collective pride.
