Sundry Foods Marks Blood Donor Day

Sundry Foods Limited organised an internal blood donation drive to mark the 2025 World Blood Donor Day, reaffirming its commitment to corporate social responsibility.

In a statement, the company said it conducted the exercise in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, in partnership with the Armed Forces Blood Centre. The activity saw over 100 staff members across various departments voluntarily donate blood.

Head of Marketing at Sundry Foods, Mr Nduka Mokwunye, said the initiative reflects the company’s dedication to giving back to society, stating, “The blood donation drive conducted by the company is a demonstration of commitment to the community and the corporate social responsibility programmes initiated by SFL.”

Mokwunye noted that the 2025 World Blood Donor Day theme, ‘Give blood, Give hope: together we save lives,’ inspired the company’s effort.

Similarly, the Executive Director at SFL, Nnamdi Opara, described the initiative as a modest contribution to strengthening national blood bank stocks. He remarked, “We recognise that saving lives is not for caregivers alone but everybody’s business because we value the health and well-being of members of the community.”

Opara explained that blood is a critical resource for surgeries, emergencies, and various medical conditions, emphasising the need for a steady supply in hospitals.

“At SFL, we are constantly seeking ways to positively impact the lives of people living in our host communities. Our corporate responsibility teams are always working hard to identify ways in which we can make bigger impacts in society,” the SFL added.

Opara reiterated the company’s resolve to support initiatives that directly improve community health outcomes. Sundry Foods is the operator of Kilimanjaro, a quick-service restaurant brand.
