Ahead of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential primaries on Monday, the Sokoto State chapter of the party has adopted former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as its sole candidate.

Former Chief of Staff to ex-Governor Sen. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, Muktari S. Magori, announced this at a news briefing in Sokoto on Sunday.

The press conference was convened to announce the consensus reached by Sokoto ADC members to adopt His Excellency, former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Wazirin Adamawa.

“This is a sequel to the buildup for the forthcoming presidential primaries of the party and the 2027 general elections,” Magori said.

The briefing was attended by several ADC chieftains in the state, including former Information Commissioner Alhaji Dahiru Maishanu, former Head of Service Alhaji Abubakar Muhammad, and State Chairman Alhaji Abdullahi Maigwandu.
