Sokoto Commissioner Monitors Free Registration Exercise


The Sokoto State Government has expressed satisfaction with the ongoing free JAMB (UTME/DE) registration exercise sponsored by the state government.

It could be recalled that the state distributed 14,000 UTME and Direct Entry forms for the 2026/2027 admissions across the 23 Local Government Areas in the state.

The Honourable Commissioner for Higher Education, Professor Isa Muhammad Maishanu, alongside the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr Kabir Garba Gobir, and Directors from the Ministry, conducted an inspection visit to selected JAMB registration centres across the state.

The inspection covered four registration centres, including two centres at Umaru Ali Shinkafi Polytechnic and two centres at Shehu Shagari College of Education.

During the visit, the Commissioner and his team observed that the registration process was progressing smoothly and in line with the state government’s plan.

Candidates were seen patiently waiting for their turn, while registration officers were actively and efficiently attending to them on the JAMB portal for the 2026 UTME/DE examinations.

At the end of the inspection, Professor Isa Muhammad Maishanu expressed satisfaction with the level of commitment and professionalism demonstrated by the staff at the various centres.

He commended the workers for their dedication and urged them to sustain the tempo until the successful completion of the exercise.

The Sokoto State Government reaffirmed its commitment to supporting education and ensuring that eligible candidates fully benefit from the free JAMB registration initiative.
