Sokoto AIG Congratulates Christians On Easter, Urges Peace and Unity

The Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 10 headquarters, Sokoto, AIG Gyogon Augustine Grimah, has extended warm Easter greetings to Christians and all residents across the zone and the country in general as they commemorate the Easter celebration.

The AIG noted that Easter symbolises divine sacrifice, redemption, and hope of eternal life for believers, and provides an opportunity for reflection on the measureless love of Jesus Christ and selfless service to humanity.

He urged members of the public to imbibe the virtues of tolerance, unity, and mutual respect, while also conducting themselves in a peaceful and law-abiding manner throughout the festive period and beyond.

While assuring of adequate security deployments by the police commands within the zone, Sokoto, Kebbi, and Zamfara state commands, a statement issued by ASP Abdallah Faruk Ambursa, Zonal Police Public Relations Officer, further stated that the AIG enjoins members of the public to keep cooperating with security agencies and promptly report any suspicious movements or activities to the nearest police station.

The AIG further assured residents that officers and men of the zone remain committed to ensuring the safety of lives and property before, during, and after the celebration.

He encouraged members of the public to remain vigilant and security-conscious of their environment in every gathering.

While wishing all residents a peaceful and joyous Easter celebration, the AIG reaffirmed the commitment of the zone to supporting the policing vision of the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji R. Disu, which emphasises professionalism, respect for human rights, and strengthened partnership with the public.

Grimah therefore calls on residents to celebrate responsibly and continue to cooperate with the police to promote more peaceful, secure, and safer communities.
