Singer BNXN Opens Up On Romantic Struggles In Lagos

Nigerian music star, BNXN, popularly known as Daniel Benson, has publicly voiced his difficulties navigating the Lagos dating scene, describing the search for genuine connection in the metropolis as a profound personal challenge.

The “Finesse” and “Gwagwalada” hitmaker made the admission in a post on his official X account, writing in a mix of English and Nigerian Pidgin: “To find love for Eko too hard for me o.”

This public expression of romantic frustration offers a rare glimpse into the singer’s personal life, which has remained largely private since a highly publicised and contentious fallout with his alleged ex-girlfriend, Swedish socialite Filma (Filmah) Jones, in 2022.

That relationship ended acrimoniously, with Jones accusing the musician of impregnating and abandoning her. In a move that dominated tabloid headlines for weeks, she leaked private photographs, including explicit images of the artist, to substantiate her claims.

The incident had a visible impact on BNXN, who later stated it was the first time he had felt “truly heartbroken.” He subsequently claimed in interviews that he had been the victim of blackmail by a woman who falsely alleged a pregnancy following a brief encounter.

Since that turbulent period, the singer has not been publicly linked to anyone, focusing instead on a string of successful musical collaborations and his chart-topping solo work.
