Shell Recognizes Ardova Plc Lubricants Dominance in Nigeria

Global energy giant Shell has officially commended Ardova Plc for its exceptional leadership and operational excellence within the Nigerian lubricants market.

The commendation was the highlight of the 2025 Shell Macro Distributors Cup held in Milan, where Ardova was honoured with the prestigious Special Recognition Award.

The award, according to a statement on Tuesday, recognises Ardova’s consistent focus on delivery and its pivotal role as Shell’s authorised macro distributor in Nigeria.

Shell officials noted that the company’s diligence has been a cornerstone in expanding the reach of high-performance lubricant solutions across West Africa’s largest economy.

Receiving the award on behalf of the company, Assistant General Manager, Shell Lubricants Marketing at Ardova Plc, Korede Odufuwa, said that the honour belongs to the entire workforce.

“This recognition reflects the dedication and collaborative spirit of the Ardova team as well as the strength of our partnership with Shell. We remain committed to delivering high-quality lubricant solutions, driving operational excellence, and creating lasting value for our customers and partners across Nigeria,” he said.

Building on this sentiment, the Managing Director of Ardova Plc, Moshood Olajide, hailed the achievement as a benchmark for the company’s long-term strategic goals.

In a follow-up statement regarding the company’s market position, Olajide emphasised the depth of the partnership: “Our partnership with Shell is founded on a shared vision to drive innovation and make premium energy solutions accessible to Nigerians. This award from the Shell MD Cup is a testament to the collective will and expertise required to bridge the gap between ambition and action in our industry.”

The Shell MD Cup is an elite global gathering that brings together key partners and stakeholders from Shell’s international lubricants network. In presenting the award, Shell representatives lauded Ardova’s “delivery focus”, noting that AP’s efforts have significantly enhanced the success of the lubricants business in a competitive Nigerian landscape.

As Ardova Plc continues to scale its operations, this global recognition reinforces its status as a trusted partner and a dominant force in the downstream sector.

“We are not just distributing products; we are powering industries. This award serves as a catalyst for us to further deepen our market penetration and maintain the high standards that our stakeholders have come to expect,” the statement added.

The award marks a significant milestone in the 2025 calendar for Ardova Plc, signalling a year of continued expansion and reinforced commitment to the Shell-AP alliance.
