Sesko’s 96th-Minute Goals Helps Man United Secure Point

A brilliant late volley from Benjamin Sesko secured a point for Manchester United in a tense Premier League clash against West Ham at the London Stadium. On Tuesday night.

Neither side was able to take control of the game in a first half that was tepid and pedestrian throughout, though the visitors went closest as Luke Shaw’s effort from a corner routine was cleared off the line by Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

But it was the hosts who took the initiative in the second half and struck first, Tomas Soucek darting in between the defenders to tap home Jarrod Bowen’s cross.

Michael Carrick’s side toiled as they searched for an equaliser, with Casemiro having an equaliser ruled out for offside, and they were lucky not to fall two behind late on as the Hammers cut them open with two counter-attacks, United only saved by two brilliant interventions from Leny Yoro.

And those two late tackles proved pivotal for the visitors as Sesko volleyed in Bryan Mbeumo’s cross in the final minute of added time, securing an undeserved point for United as Carrick’s side stay in fourth.
