Federal Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, said the partnership between his ministry and the Nigerian Air Force is doing more than securing Nigeria’s airspace; it’s laying the foundation for a sustainable, economically robust aviation sector.
In a statement signed by the ministry, Keyamo said, “The collaboration between our ministry and the Nigerian Air Force is a powerful synergy. We are not just protecting our skies through this partnership; we are building an aviation ecosystem that will serve Nigeria for decades to come.”
The minister identified airspace security, infrastructure development, and workforce training as key areas of focus, noting that the benefits go far beyond combating terrorism.
He explained, “When we guarantee the safety of our skies, we don’t just protect our nation; we send a powerful message to the world.
“A secure airspace attracts tourists, boosts our hospitality industry, and ultimately increases aviation sector revenues that strengthen our GDP.”
Keyamo also praised the Nigerian Air Force for its professionalism and continued collaboration in advancing aviation goals and called for sustained cooperation among international and regional stakeholders to position Nigeria as “a beacon of aviation excellence in Africa”.
