Seaman’s Schnapps has reaffirmed its dedication to cultural preservation as the official prayer drink of the 2025 Osun-Osogbo Festival.
The brand stated that it maintained a strong symbolic presence during the week-long celebration, drawing worshippers, tourists, and cultural enthusiasts from across the world to the sacred grove. The Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Olanipekun Oyetunji Larooye II, led the grand finale, accompanied by chiefs, Oloris, and devotees in rituals and prayers for the town’s prosperity. The festival also welcomed the debut of the new Arugba Osun, Alimot Osunbunmi, who succeeded Osuntomi Ewatomilola after 12 years.
Ahead of the finale, District Manager, Osogbo, Nigeria Distilleries Limited, Fabunmi Babatunde, and Activation Manager, Benson Oluwafiropo, led the Seaman’s Schnapps team to pay homage to the Ataoja’s Palace, where Oba Oyetunji received the delegation warmly, reaffirming the brand’s role as a cultural steward and long-standing supporter of the festival.
Throughout the event, Seaman’s Schnapps engaged attendees with product displays, heritage storytelling, traditional music, on-the-spot blessings, and photo opportunities.
The brand also sponsored the Ayo Olopon competition, where Salaudeen Amidu and Funmilayo Moradeyo emerged winners in the male and female categories, respectively, receiving prizes alongside other finalists.
In its traditional role, Seaman’s Schnapps presented symbolic bottles to Oba Oyetunji, spiritual leaders, and custodians of Yoruba heritage, celebrating values of respect, unity, and gratitude.
Marketing Manager of Seaman’s Schnapps, Gbemileke Lawal, said, “Our presence at such a globally renowned cultural festival reinforces our commitment to preserving and promoting Yoruba traditions for future generations.”
Senior Brand Manager Nnenna Uche-Onyenacho added, “Every pour of Seaman’s Schnapps at the festival carries centuries of meaning, respect for the ancestors, gratitude for blessings received, and hope for the future. We will continue to support traditions that make our culture timeless.”
The Seaman’s Schnapps activation area became one of the festival’s most visited attractions, featuring cultural exhibitions, traditional drumming, dance performances, and interactive prayer sessions. Tourists from within and outside Nigeria were welcomed with gifts, photographs, and storytelling sessions that highlighted the role of libation in Yoruba culture.
