Saraki Commends Gambari For Stepping Down In Kwara PDP Gov’ship Race

Former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has commended Omar Bolaji Gambari for stepping down from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship race in Kwara State in the interest of the party’s unity.

Saraki in a press statement praised Gambari’s maturity, discipline, and statesmanship from the moment he obtained his nomination form to his eventual decision to sign the party’s consensus agreement ahead of the governorship primary election.

According to Saraki, Gambari demonstrated uncommon political understanding and commitment to the larger interests of the PDP and Kwara State despite being a first-time aspirant.

He acknowledged that stepping down from the contest was not an easy decision, noting that Gambari had every right to pursue his ambition until the end but instead chose to prioritise unity within the party.

Saraki stated that true leadership is not only measured by electoral victories but also by sacrifices made for collective progress and stability within a political movement.

The former Senate President further assured Gambari of continued support from the PDP family, expressing confidence that the young politician still has a bright future within the party and Kwara politics.
