Rivers Govt Receives Palliative For Flood-Impacted LGAs

The Rivers State Government, on Wednesday, received presidential palliatives aimed at supporting Local Governments and communities impacted by flooding in the state.

The State Flood Prevention and Management Committee, which oversees the distribution said the relief materials would be shared across all 23 Local Government Areas, including non-indigenes residing in the state.

Chairperson of the committee and Deputy Governor, Professor Ngozi Nma-Odu, explained that the decision to distribute the presidential palliatives was informed by the fact that flood-affected communities had previously received support from the state government.
