REDAN & Sytemap Partner to Digitise Property Transactions

The Real Estate Developers Association of Nigeria has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Sytemap Technologies Limited, marking a major step towards making land and real estate transactions safer, more transparent, and more efficient nationwide.

For millions of Nigerians, buying land or property has long been a journey filled with uncertainty, as stories of disputed titles, multiple sales of the same property, and years of litigation remain common across the country.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the organisations said the agreement brings together REDAN’s nationwide network of verified developers and Sytemap’s digital land and real estate infrastructure, designed to simplify how properties are listed, verified, mapped, and transacted across Nigeria.

Industry analysts estimate that Nigeria loses over N36 trillion annually due to untitled and disputed land capital that could otherwise support housing delivery, infrastructure development, and broader economic growth. In some urban centres, particularly Lagos and Ogun states, reports indicate hundreds of thousands of land-related fraud cases every year, leaving families and investors exposed to financial losses.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, the President of REDAN, Oba Akintoye Adeoye, said the partnership was aimed at rebuilding confidence in the real estate market.

“This partnership is about restoring confidence. When developers, buyers, and regulators operate on a trusted digital foundation, everyone benefits, from ordinary Nigerians buying their first home to institutional investors backing large developments,” he said.

Under the agreement, REDAN will support the onboarding of its registered developers onto RightHOME, a unified digital platform that promotes verified listings and consistent industry standards. Sytemap will provide the secure technology backbone, including digital mapping, transaction tracking, and fraud-prevention systems, to ensure properties listed on the platform are credible and traceable.

For everyday Nigerians, the groups said the implications are significant, including fewer disputes, clearer ownership records, and faster transaction timelines. Developers are also expected to benefit from reduced friction, improved buyer confidence, and a more transparent operating environment.

According to the Chief Executive Officer of Sytemap, Nnamdi Uba, the collaboration reflects years of preparatory work within the sector. “This is not just about technology. It’s about dignity, security, and peace of mind for people investing their life savings. REDAN’s endorsement is a powerful signal that the industry is ready for a better way,” he said.

The MoU was signed on behalf of Sytemap by the Chief Operating Officer, Ndifreke Ikokpu, while the Chief Executive Officer of RightHOME, Cholatte Odunlade-Akeji, signed on behalf of the special purpose vehicle.

The REDAN–Sytemap partnership signals a broader shift towards trust, accountability, and digital transformation in one of the country’s most critical economic sectors.
