Pivot Energy opens new fuel station in Eket, Akwa Ibom

Pivot Energy has opened a new fuel station in Eket, Akwa Ibom State, improving access to petroleum products for motorists and residents while expanding the company’s footprint in Nigeria’s downstream energy sector.

The energy company stated on Wednesday that the newly launched station is set to improve fuel availability in the area, providing a more dependable and convenient option for commuters, transport operators, and businesses reliant on a consistent energy supply for their daily operations.

The station, located at 101 Marina Road, is expected to provide a more reliable fuelling option for commuters, transport operators, and businesses that depend on a steady energy supply for daily activities.

“As economic activity continues to grow across Akwa Ibom State, demand for accessible and efficient fuelling infrastructure has increased. The entry of Pivot Energy into Eket is seen as a timely development that will help strengthen distribution and improve service delivery within the downstream sector,” it said.

The official launch, which took place on 14 March 2026, was attended by key stakeholders and community leaders. Representing the Chief Executive Officer at the event were the Director of Sales, Mr Gabriel Igbokwe; the Group Head of Retail, Mr Aje Omagbemi; and the HR Manager, Miss Jacinta Aziekwu.

Dignitaries present included Captain Shehu Habila, representative of COL JK Adisa, Chief of Staff of the Nigerian Brigade Army; the Vice Chairman of Eket Local Government, Rt Hon. Inyang Akpawan; the Youth Leader of Eket, Esuene Udoagaha; and the Resident Pastor of Winners Chapel Eket, Pastor Kelechi. Representatives from key unions were also in attendance, including the Nigerian Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers and the Cyclists Union.

The firm said, for many residents, the presence of an additional fuelling station reduces the stress often associated with fuel scarcity and long queues while also contributing to smoother transportation within the city.

“Beyond fuel supply, the station is expected to contribute to the local economy by creating employment opportunities and supporting nearby businesses. Developments like this often stimulate commercial activity in surrounding areas, benefiting small-scale traders and service providers.”

Pivot Energy, which has built a reputation in energy infrastructure development, continues to expand its footprint through strategic investments aimed at improving energy access across different regions. The company’s operations globally span multiple energy solutions, with a focus on reliability and long-term value.

With the opening of the Eket station, Pivot Energy joins other players working to strengthen Nigeria’s fuel distribution network at a time when efficient supply remains critical to economic stability.
