A group of political parties in Osun State has commended the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC), for keeping to its promise of being neutral in the process leading to the forthcoming August 15 governorship election in the state.

In a statement signed by the state chairman of Action Peoples Party (APP), Odesola Oluseye Titus, on behalf of other parties and made available to New Telegraph in Osogbo, yesterday, they appreciated INEC for its professionalism and comportment in keeping the peaceful atmosphere in the buildup to the forthcoming gubernatorial election.

According to Odesola, INEC staff in the state have shown that they are up to the task, right from the commencement of the Continuous Voters Registration till date.

They said: “The early sensitisation embarked upon by Osun Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr Mutiu Agboke, is commendable and unprecedented in the history of any election in our dear state.”
