Osun PDP Declares Unity, Says All Crisis Resolved

The Governor of Osun State, Kola Adewusi, has declared that the conflict that beset the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ife Federal Constituency has been resolved.

Adewusi made this remark shortly after a stakeholder meeting the Deputy Governor hosted at his residence in Ile-Ife, where party leaders came to a truce for the party’s progress.

Saturday Telegraph recalls that on Monday, September 1, PDP Leaders in the constituency passed a vote of no confidence in the former PDP National Secretary, Adewusi, Prof. Wale Oladipo, and Olasunkanmi Makinde, the Ife East PDP Chairman.

The trio was accused of fraternising with Bimbo Akilesoro, a former member of the House of Representatives, who defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

A media statement ratified by 39 PDP leaders, including Commissioners Biyi Odunlade (Political Affairs) and Dipo Eluwole (Education), rebuked Ajulesoro’s defection and expressed disappointment in the relationship between him and the three leaders.

While speculations about the replacement of Adewusi with another Ife indigene ensued, Adewusi refuted the claims while addressing journalists

“We have forgotten the past and turned a new leaf. PDP is one, there is no division. Even the tongue and mouth disagree sometimes, but today everything has been resolved. It’s a storm in a teacup,”

He stated that the Senatorial Chairman and other stakeholders blessed the reconciliation.

He said, “The Devil wanted to play his game, but we won’t allow him.”

Speaking on the development, Olayiwola Famuyide, the Osun East Central District PDP Leader, applauded Governor Ademola Adeleke for his role in resolving the conflict.
