Ooni lauds firms for lifting Ekiti’s economy

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has praised the management of Ikogosi Warm Spring Resort and Agbeyewa Farms for their contributions to the economy of Ekiti State.

According to a statement, Ogunwusi made these remarks during a two-day tour of the establishments, highlighting their roles in fostering rural development and economic growth.

Speaking at the Ikogosi Warm Spring Resort, the monarch commended the facility’s management for creating a world-class hospitality destination.

He described the resort as a unique global attraction, citing its amenities, including its presidential villa, landscapes, and gardens.

“The Ikogosi Warm Spring Resort stands out as an unmatched hospitality destination with world-class facilities that showcase the beauty of Ekiti State,” the Ooni said.

The Ooni visited Agbeyewa Farms and affirmed the cassava plantations in the Ipao, Gede, and Iyemero communities. At the proposed site for the Agbeyewa processing plants in Itapaji, Ogunwusi offered prayers and blessings, emphasising the project’s potential to revolutionise agricultural value chains and improve rural livelihoods.

Further, the monarch hailed the Chairman of Cavista Holdings Limited, John Olajide, and the Chief Financial Officer, Niran Olajide, for their leadership and investment in agriculture and hospitality.

He noted that their initiatives have created job opportunities for youths and boosted economic activities in rural areas.

“Through their innovative efforts, the Olajide brothers have set a benchmark for investments that uplift communities and drive sustainable development,” Ogunwusi stated.

The Ooni also expressed gratitude to the Ekiti State Government for its support in advancing agricultural innovations, particularly in cassava farming.

Traditional rulers who accompanied the Ooni during the tour included the Olu of Itapaji, Oba Kareem Adebanjo; the Obanla of Ipao Ekiti, Oba Williams Ehinmodupin; and the Alaaye of Oke Ayedun, Oba Olufemi Aribisala.
