Top traditional rulers in Ondo State at the weekend extolled the virtues of an illustrious son of the kingdom, a retired Major General, High Chief Olatubara Ikutiminu, who was laid to mother earth.
Chief Ikutiminu, who was the Oyewogha of Ode AyeIkale kingdom, passed onto glory on March 20th 2026 at a ripe age of 86 in his Lagos residence.
Speaking at the occasion which had dignitaries from across the country, the Jegun of Idepe-Okitipupa, HRM, Oba Michael Adetoye (Ogungbemi 1), expressed gratitude to God for a life well spent, stating that “the Royal family and the entire people of Okitipupa will miss the late Ikutiminu for his numerous humanitarian achievements”.
He further described Oyewogha’s life as one of service, devotion and leadership to his community and the nation at large. It was all bliss and glitz as sons and daughters of Ode Aye-Ikale in Ondo State gathered at the funeral.
Other traditional rulers who eulogized him are the Laragunsin of Iyansan, HRM Olasehinde John Akinyomi; the Rebuja of Osooro, HRM (Dr) Gbadebo Bajowa JP, the Jegun of Idepe Okitipupa, HRM Michael Obatuga Adetoye, the Ahaba of Ajagba kingdom, HRM oba Thomas Adesayo JP and Chief Mrs Tinuade Mabel Onaneye.
In a similar vein, the Akinluwa of Aye, High Chief S. K. Ogunboye said “Ikutiminu’s death is a monumental loss to the entire Ode-Aye Ikale in Ondo state as all his legacy projects and achievements in the community remain first of its kind in the entire local government “.
