The Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, has commiserated with the people of Kwara State on the unfortunate bandit attacks on the people of Woro village in the state.
Oluwo, who condemned the politicization of the attack on innocent residents of the village, called on Nigerians to be a symbol of love, unity, and togetherness.
Oba Akanbi warned Tinubu to exercise caution against his romance with Donald Trump’s administration, saying the success recorded by the current Nigerian government is a threat to every Western country.
Oluwo stated no Western nation is happy that African countries are becoming peaceful, affirming every plot to intervene in Nigeria’s fight against insecurity might be a ploy.
He said no nation has successfully won banditry with a divided interest and called on Nigerians to form a synergy to arrest the menace.
He further expressed displeasure over low reactions to the recent attack on Woro village that claimed the lives of over 170 Nigerian Muslims, saying the life of every Nigerian is priceless beyond religious and political sentiment.
He lambasted stakeholders leveraging bandit attacks for both religious and political scores as unpatriotic. Oba Akanbi tasked security agencies across the nation to seek better synergy with local intelligence in assisting the curtailment of rampant destruction of lives and property.
Oluwo cautioned President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on foreign interference in Nigeria’s security architecture, suspecting it might be a ploy to divide Nigeria on religious sentiment.
According to Oluwo: “The success recorded by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration is a threat to Western countries. The current rampancy of banditry is suspicious and must be handled with caution. Tinubu’s romance with Donald Trump’s administration should be properly reviewed in the interest of Nigeria. The interaction might be a ploy to disorganize and disunite the nation. African countries should not trust the intentions and interests of Trump’s intervention in any African nation.
“The low reactions recorded after the Woro village attacks call for sober reflection of love lost, unity decimated, and togetherness eroded. More than 170 Nigerians who are Muslims were killed overnight. Should we call this a Muslim genocide? No nation in the world has successfully won banditry with religious sentiment.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has to exercise caution of foreign intervention in Nigeria’s security architecture. The current administration is restoring and placing Nigeria back on the path of greatness. Sometimes, a great nation doesn’t wish others should rise. Nigeria’s romance with Western states should be studied and reviewed.
“I call on Nigerians to have utmost respect for human lives. The life of every Nigerian is priceless beyond both religious and political sentiment. It baffles me as a father to the nation when Nigerians harp on religious genocide. The bigots are creating a divide by sending a signal to the world that Nigerians are not equal.
“The fatal victims and casualties of the Woro attack were all Muslims. Not many stakeholders are talking about the dastardly wasting of precious lives. Were the victims less Nigerian than others?
“As a father to the nation, I have put up several challenges to cement the unity of Nigerians. The killings ravaging our dear nation could be checkmated if we could all be one, jettison tribal and religious differences, and gather intelligence to assist the security operatives without fear or favour.
“I equally call on the Nigerian security architecture to improve on intelligence gathering operations. Information is power. I hope intelligence gathering needs the cooperation of the local residents, and such will assist to halt many banditry attacks and repel destruction of lives and property.
“Once again, I feel the pain of their respective families. I commiserate with the Kwara State Government, traditional stakeholders of Woro village, and the entire community on the irreparable damages. May their souls rest in peace.”
