Ogun Police Arrest Man Over Double Murder, Three Attempted Killings


The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a 25-year-old man, Abubakar Musa, over the alleged killing of two persons and the attempted murder of three others in Olámbe area of Ogun State.

According to a statement issued by the state Police Public Relations Officer, Oluseyi Babaseyi, the suspect carried out the attack in the early hours of Tuesday, April 7, 2026, following disputes linked to failed business dealings.

According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, detectives from the Ajuwon Division responded to the incident, which occurred at about 1:38 a.m., where five individuals were reportedly stabbed.

Two of the victims, identified as Gbadamasi Ibrahim, 25, and Chinedu, 40, died while being rushed to the hospital. Medical personnel later confirmed them dead.

Three other victims, Mohammed Abubakar, 35; Ashiru Adamu, 25; and Paul Lawrence, 25, sustained serious injuries and are currently receiving treatment, with police noting that they are responding.

The suspect reportedly fled the scene after the attack but was subsequently apprehended by police operatives and taken into custody.

The case has since been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation and possible prosecution.

Reacting to the incident, the Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, condemned the killings and assured the public that justice would be served.

He also urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious or violent activities to security agencies.
The police reiterated the availability of emergency lines for reporting security concerns, emphasising the importance of community cooperation in maintaining public safety.
