OGIRS boss gets recognition

The Executive Chairman of Ogun State Internal Revenue Service, Mr Olugbenga Olaleye, has been honoured with the National Ethics and Values Award for his outstanding contributions to tax administration and fiscal responsibility.

The award was presented at an event themed “Upholding Integrity, Celebrating Champions of Ethical Leadership and Values”, and was organised in collaboration with the National Orientation Agency, held in Abuja.

According to a statement issued by the Press Secretary of OGIRS, Bola Sobola, the ceremony recognised individuals who demonstrate transparency, accountability, and ethical leadership in their professional roles.

The President of the African Young Leaders Empowerment Initiative, Ambassador Dele Moses, while presenting the award, lauded Olaleye’s dedication, describing the recognition as a testament to his sacrifices and commitment to upholding ethics in public service.

In his acceptance speech, Olaleye commended the organisers for promoting ethics and values in society.

He attributed his success to the support of the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, who he said provided a platform for his professional expertise to thrive.

Olaleye urged individuals, particularly the youth, to remain committed, dedicated, and focused on their fields.

“If you are called to service, make it worthwhile. Do not lose focus; work as if you are working for God, and commit yourself to making that service better and leaving it better,” he advised.

Also, the Minister for Youth Development, Hon. Oluwanbe Ayodele, represented by his Special Assistant on Gender Matters, Hon. Kehinde Charity, encouraged young Nigerians to embrace diligence, selflessness, and participation in federal empowerment programmes.

He emphasised that those initiatives could equip them for a brighter future.
