Reiterating his commitment to democratic principles, Governor Ododo also emphasised that there will be no imposition of candidates in the state, maintaining that the power to choose leaders rests solely with the people.
He disclosed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has consistently advised political leaders to allow the will of the people to prevail, urging aspirants to engage with the grassroots, consult widely, and earn the trust and support of their constituents.
“If you aspire to serve or want to continue to serve your people, you must relate with them at the grassroots because they own us. From the State Assembly to the National Assembly, Senate, and even the governorship, it is the people who will decide. That is where we stand,” the Governor said.
He added that his administration remains committed to providing a level playing field for all aspirants, insisting that leadership must be earned through service, trust, and acceptance by the people.
