NSIA to host 15 African sovereign funds


The Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority will host over 15 African sovereign wealth funds and global investment leaders at the Africa Sovereign Investors Forum 2025, scheduled for June in Abuja.

This was according to a press statement issued by NSIA’s Head of Corporate Communications, Joyce Onyegbula, on Monday.

Themed “Leveraging African Sovereign Wealth Funds to Mobilise Global Capital for Transformative Development in Africa,” the two-day meeting aims to position Africa’s sovereign wealth funds as critical vehicles for unlocking large-scale global capital to drive development across the continent.

“This gathering comes at a pivotal moment that demands bold, coordinated action to deepen collaboration and unlock global capital for sustainable, large-scale, inclusive development in Africa.

“By uniting our collective resources, African sovereign wealth funds can become a formidable catalyst for transformative growth, economic resilience, and long-term prosperity,” said Aminu Umar-Sadiq, Managing Director and CEO of NSIA, in the statement.

Attendees will include sovereign wealth fund CEOs, global institutional investors, development finance institutions, and government ministers, who will explore investment opportunities across priority sectors such as infrastructure, energy, technology, and healthcare.

Confirmed speakers include Nigeria’s Finance Minister Wale Edun, Trade Minister Jumoke Oduwole, Afreximbank President Prof Benedict Oramah, Africa Finance Corporation President Samaila Zubairu, and Liu Haoling of China Investment Corporation, among others.

The event will also feature Chair of ASIF and CEO of Morocco’s Ithmar Capital, Obaid Amrane, who was quoted in the statement as sayng, “ASIF is a powerful testament to Africa’s capacity to shape its own development narrative. By convening sovereign wealth funds and global investors, we are building the alliances needed to unlock transformational capital for an inclusive and sustainable future for the continent.”

Organised under the leadership of NSIA, the summit will include fireside chats, panel sessions, and curated networking events to deepen collaboration among African funds and international partners. It is expected to strengthen Africa’s voice in the global investment arena and build enduring partnerships to finance long-term development.

NSIA reaffirmed its commitment to championing investment-led growth for Nigeria and the continent.
