NSCDC spokesman attacked by the hoodlums, sustains injuries


Suspected hoodlums have allegedly attacked the spokesman of the Niger State command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, DSC Ibrahim Rabiu Muti in a tricycle around the Gbeganu area of Minna, the state capital.

It was gathered the incident occurred at about 8pm when Muti was returning from work last Friday.

DAILY POST learnt the spokesman of the state NSCDC was stabbed twice in his stomach.

Confirming the attack, DSC Muti disclosed that about nine of the criminals attacked and stabbed Muti after two persons from a nearby bush stopped the tricycle he boarded under the guise of passengers.

According to him, ” They stabbed me with a knife, took away my phone and other valuables. They were armed with knives, cutlasses, daggers and sticks. However, during their search, one of the hoodlums noticed my uniform trousers and quickly told his colleagues that I was a soldier and they abandoned me with injuries.

” In fact, it was my uniform trousers that saved me. Other passengers had already alighted from the tricycle, I was the only one remaining with the motorcycle rider when the incident occurred.

For now, the spokesman has been discharged from the hospital and is responding to treatment in his home.
