NLNG Insurance team explores opportunities with NIA

The insurance team of the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas seeks an understanding of energy and special risk insurance policies, according to a statement from the NIA.

To this end, the team led by the Managing Director of First Standard Insurance Brokers Limited, Dr Adetayo John-Fishers, recently paid a strategic familiarisation visit to the Director-General of the Nigerian Insurers Association, Mrs. Bola Odukale.

The NIA is the umbrella organisation for all insurance and reinsurance companies in Nigeria. It was established in 1971 to offer its members a forum to speak to one another and for all of them to speak with one voice to the government, its agencies, and other parties on matters affecting the insurance business.

Also, the meeting offered the NLNG insurance team an opportunity for direct engagement with key stakeholders in the broader insurance industry to bolster the team’s insights into the evolving market dynamics and risk management strategies integral to the energy sector.

“The meeting underscored a continued commitment to industry collaboration and the importance of staying abreast of best insurance practices, particularly in areas critical to the country’s energy infrastructure,” stated the NIA.

The parties expressed optimism that such engagements will strengthen partnerships and enhance the overall resilience of Nigeria’s insurance framework.

The NLNG is a major player in the global LNG business to harness Nigeria’s vast natural gas resources and produce LNG and NGLs for global export, ensuring energy sustainability and economic growth.
