NIPCO rewards loyal customers with N16m in lucky draw

NIPCO Plc, a downstream oil and gas company, has given out a total of N16m to motorists, Okada riders, fuel and cooking gas users in a lucky draw organised to reward customer loyalty and patronage, the company has said.

The lucky draw took place at an open event held at NIPCO’s filling station located at Wuse Two, Banex Junction, on Tuesday in Abuja, where customers and other stakeholders witnessed the exercise.

The company, in a statement on Sunday, signed by the Assistant General Manager, Corporate Affairs, NIPCO PLC, Lawal Taofeek, said the raffle was organised as a gesture of appreciation to customers who have consistently supported its operations over the years through the purchase of petroleum products, including Premium Motor Spirit and Liquefied Petroleum Gas.

Prizes won at the draw ranged from N100,000 to N5m. The breakdown showed that customers won N100,000, N200,000, N300,000, N500,000, N600,000, and N800,000, while five other winners received N1m each. The star prize of N5m was won by Lucky Obiora from Warri, Delta State, bringing the total payout to N16m.

NIPCO described the initiative as an appreciation event designed to thank customers for their loyalty and to further promote the company’s brand within Nigeria’s highly competitive downstream petroleum market.

The company also disclosed that the lucky draw would now be held monthly, with dates to be confirmed

“It is an appreciative event for the loyalty and patronage of our customers and also a way of promoting the company among peers in the industry,” the firm said, adding that the draw would now be held monthly, with subsequent dates to be communicated.

One of the winners, Edwin Okechukwu, who received N800,000, expressed excitement over the reward, describing it as timely support amid current economic challenges.

“Every day, I have been checking my ticket. I want to thank NIPCO for rewarding us, and I encourage everyone to keep buying from NIPCO. They are the best,” he said, noting that he had been patronising the company’s station near his residence for about five years.

“I didn’t expect this at all. I have bought fuel from other stations before, and nobody gave me anything. N800,000 is a lot in this economy, and because of this reward, I will keep buying from NIPCO,” Okechukwu added.

Another winner, Suleiman from Kogi State, who won N100,000, said the draw had strengthened his confidence in the company.

“I am so happy. I just bought fuel some weeks ago and decided to try. I didn’t expect to win,” he said, adding that the initiative was encouraging customers to continue patronising the firm. He also praised the quality of NIPCO’s fuel, saying it had good consumption efficiency.

Similarly, Simeon Uleji said the lucky draw had changed his perception about promotional campaigns, describing the initiative as impactful, especially given prevailing economic realities.

“I have been buying fuel and gas from NIPCO because it is close to where I stay. I never believed in raffle draws, but this has changed my perception,” he said, noting that the quality of the company’s products had earned his loyalty.

NIPCO said the lucky draw scheme would be a regular event as part of broader efforts to strengthen customer relationships, deepen brand loyalty, and reward customers who patronise its retail outlets nationwide.
