Nigerian Breweries promotes cultural heritage at Calabar Carnival


Nigerian Breweries has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting the nation’s cultural richness and unity by sponsoring the 2024 Calabar Carnival and Festivals.

 Known as Africa’s largest cultural celebration, the festival is a vibrant showcase of art, music, dance, and diversity, attracting thousands of participants and visitors worldwide.

This year’s theme, “Our Shared Prosperity,” highlights the collective spirit of growth and collaboration, the firm stated in a statement.

The Governor of Cross River State, Senator Bassey Otu, said, “We are thrilled to present an even greater array of activities, as we come together to celebrate our shared prosperity.”

Speaking on the sponsorship, the National Trade Marketing Manager, Nigerian Breweries Plc,  Mfon Bassey, said, “Our partnership with the Calabar Carnival and Festivals reflects Nigerian Breweries’ dedication to nurturing platforms that celebrate the vibrancy and creativity of Nigerian culture.

“This sponsorship also serves as an opportunity for us to connect more deeply with our consumers while fostering unity and pride in our heritage.”

On her part, the Chief Executive Officer of Okhma Global Limited, the official brand marketing company for Carnival Calabar and Festivals, Mary Ephraim-Egbas, said, “Nigerian Breweries’ support highlights the core values of our shared prosperity.

“Their contribution not only strengthens the festival’s global appeal but also enhances their position as a brand that deeply values cultural heritage. This synergy creates mutual benefits, fostering greater market influence and long-term consumer loyalty.”

The Chairman of the CRS Carnival Calabar Commission, Gabe Onah, expressed gratitude, saying, “Nigerian Breweries has consistently played a pivotal role in bringing the vision of the Calabar Carnival to life.
