Nigeria has been ranked among countries with average penis sizes in the world. According to Data Pandas, an online library of datasets about health, crime, education, demographics, and the economy, Nigeria ranked third in the world with an average erect length of 17.0 cm (6.7 inches).
The report places Ecuador first at 17.6 cm, followed by the Republic of the Congo at 17.3 cm. Other countries in the top 10 include Venezuela, Colombia, Sudan and Ghana.
While the rankings have generated widespread public interest and social media debate, health experts have cautioned against overinterpreting such data, noting that penis size has little to no correlation with fertility, sexual performance, or overall health outcomes.
The significance of the report lies largely in its contribution to conversations around male body image and sexual health awareness. Researchers emphasise that misinformation and cultural myths about size can fuel anxiety, low self-esteem, and unnecessary medical concerns among men.
Public health professionals say the data present an opportunity to shift focus toward more meaningful indicators of sexual and reproductive health, including safe sexual practices, prevention of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and access to reproductive health education.
