New Ekiti CP Vows To Go Tough On Criminal Elements


..Assures residents of peace and tranquillity

The newly appointed Commissioner of Police in Ekiti State, CP Michael Adegoroye Falade, has declared that his administration would go tough on criminal elements in the state.

The CP expressed his commitment to the security of the lives and property of all residents by working with his team, other sister agencies, and relevant stakeholders to achieve a peaceful and conducive atmosphere for the people.

The Commissioner stated this on Monday, while addressing journalists shortly after his assumption of duty at the State Police Command, where heads of departments, senior officers, and other officials of the command received him during a brief meeting with members of the press.

He expressed appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, for the confidence reposed in him to lead the command.

He called for collective action against violations of human rights and criminal activities, declaring that all stakeholders must work together to promote justice and security across the state.

Falade promised to achieve the peaceful terrain,” Through intelligence-led policing, visibility policing, raids on criminal hideouts, bush combing operations, and other crime prevention measures”

The CP urged members of the public to play a vital role in intelligence-led policing, urging residents and the media to promptly report suspicious activities to security authorities.

The Commissioner who regretted the security challenges faced by some States bordering Ekiti State stressed the fortification of boarders against criminal infiltration by :

‘Working with other security agencies, local security outfits, and relevant partners called for citizens’ cooperation, collaboration, and support.

“I therefore solicit our collective synergy and cooperation to enable us to win big. All hands must be on deck in the fight against crimes and criminality, and safety for all and sundry.

“We must all come together to fight our common enemies – the criminal elements. I will ensure that the principle of the rule of law and respect for human rights prevail. Under my leadership, no violation of human rights by my officers or fellow citizens will be entertained.

He assured officers and men of the command that their welfare would be protected if they remained professional and disciplined, but warned that any officer found engaging in misconduct or corruption would face appropriate disciplinary action.
