The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority has expressed readiness to partner with the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism to develop a regulatory framework that addresses overlapping roles between the two organisations.
The Director-General of Civil Aviation, Capt. Chris Najomo, made this commitment via his official X account on Tuesday.
Capt. Najomo warmly received the team and assured them of NCAA’s commitment to a smooth partnership. He also proposed the formation of a committee to review the Acts and regulations governing both agencies.
“This initiative aims to clarify and streamline their respective roles to avoid conflicts,” Najomo said.
In his remarks, Director-General of NIHOTOUR, Aare Abisoye, underscored the importance of the collaboration in strengthening regulatory structures within Nigeria’s tourism sector. He expressed optimism that the two agencies would formalise their partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding, which he said would help “prevent role encroachment”.
Both parties agreed to establish a joint committee with a three-month deadline to submit its findings and recommendations.
