NBC, WIMBIZ support female entrepreneur with N1m grant


The Nigerian Bottling Company has partnered with Women in Management, Business, and Public Service to support female entrepreneurship, including awarding an N1 million grant to a pastry chef.

In a statement, NBC said it awarded an N1m grant to a pastry chef and entrepreneur, Achiv Ngusurun, in recognition of her innovative business approach at the 23rd Annual WIMBIZ Conference held in Lagos.

NBC noted Ngusurun excelled in a competitive business pitch session at the conference, where her presentation highlighted her potential to drive economic growth through her venture.

The grant recipient expressed gratitude for the support, acknowledging NBC and WIMBIZ’s role in promoting female-led businesses, saying “This grant will fuel my business’s growth and empower my journey.”

NBC’s People and Culture Director, Jolomi Fawehinmi, highlighted the company’s dedication to fostering economic inclusion for women, stating “It is with immense pride and a deep sense of purpose that we present this grant to an exceptional female entrepreneur.”

Fawehinmi emphasised that NBC’s support for women’s success is not just a choice but a “responsibility,” adding, “When women succeed, they uplift families, communities, and entire nations.”

The bottling company added that its partnership with WIMBIZ went beyond financial support and offered a valuable networking and learning platform for NBC’s female delegates, alongside other young professionals.

The attendees engaged with industry leaders, expanded their networks, and gained insights to further their careers.

WIMBIZ noted its commitment to being a premier platform in Nigeria for women professionals, fostering career advancement, and providing a collaborative space for emerging and established leaders.
