N50.77bn Projected by 4 Nigerian Firms


Four companies listed on the Nigerian Exchange Limited have projected a combined profit after tax of N50.77bn for the third quarter ending September 30, 2025, according to earnings forecasts submitted to regulators.

The companies Custodian Investment Plc, Regency Alliance Insurance Plc, STACO Insurance Plc, and Eterna Plc issued their forecast profit and cash flow statements in line with the Exchange’s listing requirements.

Custodian Investment Plc is expected to post the highest profit of the four, forecasting a profit after tax of N49.41bn for the nine-month period ending September 30, 2025. This represents a significant increase of 207 per cent from N16.08 bn reported in the same period of 2024.

The company also projects a gross revenue of N 175.81 bn, up from N 103.91 bn recorded a year earlier, driven by growth in investment returns and operating income. Total expenses are expected to rise to N117.68 bn, compared to N84.71 bn in the corresponding period of the previous year.

Meanwhile, Regency Alliance Insurance Plc has forecast a profit after tax of N983.88m, backed by an insurance result of N1.29bn and investment/other income of N450.96m. The company’s forecast indicates robust performance despite a challenging operating environment for the insurance sector.

Its operating cash flow before working capital changes was estimated at N 115.02m, although the firm expects a net cash outflow of N 426.21m by the end of the third quarter.

Similarly, STACO Insurance Plc projected a profit after tax of N176.58m for the third quarter of 2025, supported by a total premium income of N753.84m and investment income of N143.54m. The underwriting profit is forecast at N515.40m, while forecast taxation stands at N75.68m.

STACO also anticipates a net cash flow of N39.23m, resulting in a closing cash and cash equivalents balance of N1.70bn, up from N1.66bn at the beginning of the year.

In the energy sector, Eterna Plc forecast a profit after tax of N 192.13m for the third quarter of 2025. Year-to-date revenue is expected to reach N193.47 bn, while the cost of sales is projected at N182.83 bn, resulting in a gross profit of N10.64 bn.

Eterna’s operating cash flow before working capital changes stood at N 5.24bn, while net cash from operating activities was N 7.66bn. Despite investment outflows of N467.88m and financing outflows of N6.56bn, the firm expects a net increase in cash and cash equivalents of N640.55m, bringing its projected cash position to N2.28bn at the end of Q3.
