My Parents Once Rejected House Gift From Me -Zlatan Ibile


Nigerian rapper, Omoniyi Temidayo Raphael, popularly known as Zlatan Ibile, has revealed that his parents were sceptical of his sudden wealth after he bought them a luxurious house in Lagos’ upscale Lekki neighbourhood in 2019.

The Zanku crooner, who spoke in a recent interview on the YACN podcast revealed that his parents had doubts about the source of his fortune and that his earnings from music alone could not have paid for such a pricey mansion.

According to the rapper, his parents asked whether he was engaged in any illegal activity and asked for time to pray and look into the validity of the gift.

“When I blew up in 2019, I bought my first house in Lekki and decided to gift it to my parents. I called them on the phone and asked them to come, and they were like, ‘A house?

That’s not possible. Are you doing something else apart from music? How did you buy a house worth millions in the space of one year?” he recalled.

Speaking further, Zlatan stated that he was hurt by their suspicion after prioritising them.

To alleviate their concerns, Zlatan said he presented evidence of his music earnings, including his bank statement.
