Fiery cleric and senior pastor at the Church of Christ in Nations, (COCIN), in Plateau State, Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, has attributed the continued terror attacks, especially killing of Nigerian soldiers in major parts of the North to the absorption of ex-Boko Haram members by the immediate past government.
He also warned that any attempt to sustain the current Muslim-Muslim ticket in the 2027 elections will fuel further genocide against Christians, and called for a ticket that will reflect Nigeria’s geo-political and religious diversity.
In an exclusive interview with Sunday Telegraph, Dachomo, known for his global campaign against what he described as Christian genocide in Nigeria, added that given the manner of the terrorists’ entry into the country and their operations, ‘Northern leaders are shadows behind Boko Haram, and they know them.”
He described the entire philosophy behind the deradicalization and pardon granted ex-Boko Haram members as a charade, adding that they have become moles in the Nigerian Army. “They are busy passing signals, exposing the innocent security people to destruction. Before they (soldiers) arrive at a place for operation, they (the repentant Boko Haram members) would have passed signals to the insurgents.
“Sometimes, our armies will go to locations housing the terrorists but find them empty. If you see Nigerian soldiers succeeding in their mission, it means the information that they received was not leaked and they will go and succeed.
That is what is happening in Nigeria today.” Recall that over 25 army officers, including two Brigadier-Generals have been killed by the terrorists in Borno and other Northern states in the last six months, while scores of people have lost their lives in Benue and Plateau, with their ancestral homes destroyed.
He asked: “Since the absorption of these insurgents, can’t you see there are many soldiers dying? Nigeria is losing many soldiers. But the soldiers are trying themselves but they have informants among them. Once you speak something negative about what is happening, the next thing they arrange is how to eliminate you.
“Many Nigerian security officers are afraid because you don’t know the person standing with you is an absorbed ‘repentant’ Boko Haram. Did they really repent? What do you mean by repentant Boko Haram members?
How did they repent? Did they follow them to the families of those that they have killed to make restitution? Some of them know their families. They didn’t do that.”
