Music Stars To Be Crowned As Headies Holds Today


In Nigeria’s vibrant music industry, new kings and queens will be crowned today, Sunday, April 27, 2025, as the prestigious 17th Headies Awards takes center stage.

The highly anticipated ceremony, which celebrates excellence across diverse genres including Afrobeats, R&B, Hip-Hop, Inspirational, Rap, and more, will be held this evening at the Landmark Event Centre in Lagos.

In the Next Rated category, it is a tight one and always been as talented Qing Madi, Shallipopi, rapper OdumoduBlvck, Ayo Maff and Nasboi are keenly jostling for the award which normally comes with a brand new SUV. The Next Rated category recognizes promising new artists in the Nigerian music industry.

The award nominees include a diverse range of artists in various categories, including Artiste of the Year, Song of the Year, Album of the Year, and more

The Headies formerly Hip hop awards, which will feature live performances and honouring of awardees, is set to be broadcasted live on HIP Tv on Channel 324 / GOtv 22) and streaming on YouTube.

The awards which will be held twice in 2025 in Nigeria, was previously held in Atlanta, United States in 2022 and 2023. It didn’t hold last year, hence its holding twice in this year 2025.
