Mouka Urges Nigerians to Prioritise Better Sleep Routines

Mouka has called on Nigerians to prioritise better sleep as part of efforts to improve overall health and wellbeing as the world marked World Sleep Day 2026.
Observed annually and led by the World Sleep Society, this year’s event was held on 13 March with the theme ‘Sleep Well, Live Better’, underscoring the critical role quality sleep plays in maintaining a healthy and productive life.
Speaking on the significance of the campaign, Mouka’s Head of Marketing, Tolu Olanipekun, said the company remains committed to promoting a healthy sleep culture across Nigeria through both its products and sustained public education.
She noted that quality sleep is fundamental to daily performance and long-term wellness, adding that the theme aligns with Mouka’s mission of improving the lives of Nigerians.
As part of activities to mark the day, Mouka partnered with the Nigeria Society of Physiotherapy and the National Association of Orthopaedic and Manual Therapists to educate the public on the benefits of proper sleep habits and conducive sleep environments.
According to sleep experts, sleep is a vital pillar of health, comparable to nutrition and physical activity. Adequate sleep supports memory, strengthens the immune system, and helps the body recover and maintain energy levels, while poor sleep has been linked to conditions such as obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and cognitive decline.
Senior Brand and Innovation Manager at Mouka, Yemisi Obadina, emphasised that improving sleep health begins with simple lifestyle adjustments. She advised individuals to maintain consistent sleep schedules, create comfortable sleeping environments, and aim for at least seven hours of sleep per night.
She added that people who consistently enjoy quality sleep are more focused, healthier, and better equipped to handle daily demands.
To further amplify awareness, Mouka deployed educational content across print and digital platforms while also engaging organisations and communities through targeted sleep health sessions.
The company reiterated its commitment to advancing sleep health awareness through innovation and strategic partnerships.
As a member of the Dolidol International Group, Mouka said it will continue to provide solutions that enable Nigerians to achieve healthier and more restorative sleep.
