Monarchs commend investment summit on fintech expansion

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, and the Etsu Nupe of Nupe land, Dr Yahaya Abubakar, were among the dignitaries who attended the Giant Stride Investment Summit organised by Digital Space Capital in Lagos on Wednesday.

The monarchs also commended the investment firm for its strides in the last five years.

The Etse Nupe, who is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of DSC, in his comments, expressed gratitude for the support that the company has received in the last few years as well as commended the Group Managing Director, Mrs Olubukola Abitoye, for her leadership.

The Ooni, who recounted the different sectors in which he has partnered with DSC highlighted how he was able to resuscitate a dying microfinance bank with support from the investment firm.

He said, “I took over one legacy microfinance bank, Olofin Microfinance Bank. The bank is over 35 years old, and we saw the bank collapsing in our faces. I asked Bukola, ‘Are we going to lose this money? It is not right.’ With her support, we restructured the bank, gave it another name, got another licence, and kept pushing. At one point, I lost hope, but this woman kept pushing and today, we have revived the bank.”

Ogunwusi added, “For me, I’m fully part of the DSC as a group. It is my baby. To me, their growth is important and in everything that they do, I will continue to support them.”

Speaking on the theme of the summit, ‘The Quantum Leap 5.0,’ Abitoye said that the firm is poised to accelerate growth, “expand our reach, and solidify our position in the fintech industry. We are positioned to see greater opportunities and deliver even more value to all our stakeholders. Why invest with Digital Invest Capital? We are positioned for transformation.

“The theme of this summit embodies our shared desire to transcend boundaries, embrace innovation, and redefine possibilities in the world of finance. This summit is not just a meeting of minds but a powerful call to action for bold and transformative steps that will shape the future of financial services, not just in Nigeria, and Africa but globally.

“At Digital Space Capital, we have built a solid foundation for innovation, growth and impact across multiple industries. The achievements of the past four years have laid the groundwork for a new chapter, one in which we scale our operations into new markets and accelerate the development of transformative solutions.

“To achieve this vision, we need strategic partnerships and forward-thinking investments. Our mission is to embrace new opportunities, leverage cutting-edge technologies, and position ourselves as a leader in Africa’s digital revolution.”
