Michael Jackson Biopic Release Pushed Back Q4 Of 2025


Lionsgate has announced the pushing back of its Michael Jackson’s biopic titled: “Michael” initially set to release April 18 to October 3, 2025.

Starring the King of Pop’s nephew Jaafar Jackson, the movie explores the life of Michael Jackson both as an influential artiste and a human being.

“Why I wanted to make it is Michael. Michael was a big part of my life growing up, big influence on my career, an incredible artist – but he was a human being, and we’re exploring that. I’m very excited about it,” said director Antoine Fuqua (Equalizer, Training Day).

‘Michael’ stars Nia Long as the Jackson family matron, Catherine Jackson, Coleman Domingo as the Jackson family’s tough patron Joe Jackson, alongside others like Laura Harrier and Miles Teller. It is scripted by John Logan and produced by Graham King, John Branca and John McClain.

Lionsgate is also set to release Good Fortune a comedy headlined by the John Wick Keanu Reeves on October 17, 2024.

Written and directed by Aziz Ansari, ‘Good Fortune’ which also starts Ansari centers on a well-intentioned but slightly clueless (Reeves) who intervenes in the lives of a frustrated gig worker (Ansari) and a successful venture capitalist (Seth Rogen).
