Nollywood actress and filmmaker Mercy Aigbe has opened up about the personal experiences that have defined her journey with regard to motherhood, perseverance, and the deep pain of losing her mother.
According to the actress, motherhood is the most fulfilling aspect of her life, and she credits her progress to refusing to give up despite challenges.
Speaking on The Morayo Show, the 48-year-old mother of one said being a mother gives her a sense of purpose and responsibility that she treasures deeply.
She revealed that raising her children is a role she considers a divine privilege and one she is determined to handle with care and dedication.

Turning to the loss of her mother, Aigbe spoke emotionally about how hard it was to accept the reality of her passing, especially since she was outside the country when it happened. She recalled receiving the heartbreaking news through a phone call from her husband, a moment she said left her in disbelief.
She admitted that even now, the loss still feels unreal, adding that her mother’s belongings remain untouched, as the pain is something words cannot fully capture.
The actress revealed that she shared a very close relationship with her mother and had remained hopeful that she would recover from her illness.
Aigbe acknowledged that the grief has had a lasting impact on her life, noting that it is a wound that never truly heals, but one she has learned to live with over time.
The emotional weight of the loss also affected her career, as she disclosed that she stepped away from film production late last year because she was not mentally prepared to work.
Through it all, Mercy Aigbe said her journey stands as proof of resilience, faith, and the strength to keep moving forward in the face of personal trials.
