Lekoil, NAPE honour Nigerian geologist

Lekoil Nigeria Limited has celebrated Dr Kehinde Ladipo, a Nigerian geologist and geoscientist, on receiving the esteemed Aret Adams Award from the Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists.

The award, the highest honour within the NAPE community, recognises Ladipo’s contributions to geosciences and Nigeria’s oil and gas exploration sector for over 15 years.

Named after the late Chief Aret Adams, former Group Managing Director of the then Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, the award is given to earth scientists for their exceptional achievements.

To mark the milestone, Lekoil recently hosted a celebratory dinner in Lagos to honour Ladipo, a senior consultant and advisor to Lekoil’s geoscience department who offers invaluable expertise in asset valuation and exploration strategies.

Expressing his gratitude, Ladipo reflected on his rewarding 22-year journey with Shell and highlighted Nigeria’s vast energy potential.

He called on young geologists to leverage innovation and artificial intelligence to drive future exploration and development in the country’s energy sector.

Lekoil’s Chief Executive Officer, Lekan Akinyanmi, described Ladipo as an inspiration, stating, “We are immensely proud of Dr. Ladipo’s outstanding achievements. His dedication and expertise have been instrumental in advancing our exploration initiatives. The Aret Adams Award is a well-deserved recognition of his exceptional contributions.”
