LBS unveils business magazine


The Lagos Business School has launched Insights Edge Magazine to offer business solutions and insights aimed at helping businesses navigate the challenges and support in making informed decisions during turbulent times.

The business magazine was unveiled at the LBS Alumni Day recently in Lagos.

The Dean of Lagos Business School, Prof Chris Ogbechie, asked, “How do we navigate these turbulent times? Indeed, this is a challenging period, not just in Africa or the world, but specifically in Nigeria, where we are in what can be described as a volatile, almost volcanic environment.”

Ogbechie mentioned that the world is essentially a volatile, almost volcanic environment, where uncertainty and rapid change are constant. “This is why, at LBS, we have developed a business magazine called Insights Edge, which aims to provide clarity and guidance,” he said.

The don added, “As we navigate these turbulent times, Insights Edge magazine will help businesses understand the complexities of the current landscape and make informed decisions.

In these challenging times, businesses must have the right insights to thrive, and that’s exactly what we hope to offer through this platform.”

According to Ogbechie, the magazine was put together by the Faculty of Lagos Business School, management scholars, and industry leaders, as a means of helping businesses navigate the turbulent environment.

“It is practice-oriented, not charity. Easy to read, but most importantly, giving you tips as to how you can make things happen,” he said.

He added that the magazine also highlights the need to reinvent business models, manage costs without necessarily cutting them, and embrace visionary leadership.

“We believe that in turbulent environments, while we are talking of risk problems, there are enormous opportunities. How do we take advantage of these opportunities? Even today, unemployment is high, the interest rate is high, and the exchange rate is high.

“We are struggling with crippling national debt. Yes, Nigerian businesses can still thrive, if only we know what to do. So, innovate, grow, or die,” he mentioned.

Ogbechie added that this will help businesses navigate these challenging times and serve as a valuable resource for CEOs seeking to thrive in turbulent environments.
