Lasaco Assurance Plc, in partnership with the Lagos State Government and a consortium of insurance underwriters and brokers, has disbursed N978.62 million in insurance benefits to over 510 families of deceased civil servants in the state.
The disbursement ceremony, which took place recently highlighted the Lagos State Government’s continued commitment to the welfare of its workforce and their families, even after death.
In a statement made available to our correspondent on Tuesday, the Managing Director of Lasaco Assurance Plc, Razzaq Abiodun; General Manager, Business Development, Muyiwa Anwoju; and Assistant General Manager, Public Sector, Ronke Babaita, were present at the event, reaffirming the company’s dedication to supporting civil servants across the state.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Lagos State Commissioner for Finance, Abayomi Oluyomi, alongside Abiodun and Anwoju, presented cheques to the beneficiaries.
Oluyomi reiterated that the state remained committed to providing support for the families of civil servants who lost their lives in the line of duty.
Abiodun described the insurance scheme as “an embodiment of protection” that provides both asset and welfare coverage for civil servants, whether alive or deceased.
Also speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Lagos State House of Assembly Committee on Finance, Femi Saheed, praised the consistency of the state government in maintaining adequate insurance cover for its employees.
The officials advised beneficiaries to make prudent use of the funds and urged them to embrace financial literacy to maximise the benefits.
The company said it remains committed to strengthening public service through timely and meaningful support.
