Lagos Trumpet Conference Returns With 2nd Edition March 13


The second edition of the highly anticipated Lagos Trumpet Conference (LTC), which brings together creatives and music professionals, is scheduled to take place on Thursday, March 13, 2025.

This year’s event titled ‘The Trumpet Player as a Watchman’ underscores the vital role of trumpet players as both vigilant guardians and interpreters of music and society.

The conference convened by ace trumpeter and music tutor, Victor Ademofe, will bring together trumpeters from across the country to discuss pressing issues surrounding the art, science, economics, and spirituality of the trumpet, as well as the challenges faced by its players.

Holding at the Saxophone Hub in Gbaja Shopping Mall, Surulere, Lagos, the event will explore the trumpet’s role within the broader brass family. It will also redefine professionalism.

According to the organizers, in addition to the insightful discussions, the LTC will honor both legendary and contemporary trumpet players with awards recognizing their contributions to the craft. Two trumpets will also be awarded during the event. “It will feature facilitators from both the United States and South Africa offering an international perspective on the trumpet’s evolving role in music.”

Musicians and trumpeters of repute to grace the occasion include the president of the Nigeria Guild of Trumpet (NGT), Prof Abiodun Adebiyi known in music and entertainment industry circles as Biodun Batik, Lt E.O Ajayi of the Nigerian Navy, Goke Bajowa, David Sendef, Daniel Walter, Taiwo Clegg, Etuk Ubong of the Earth Music, Segun Prestige who anchors the event segmented into Morning, Afternoon and Evening.
