Lagos will this week host TEDx Admiralty Way 2025, an event dedicated to exploring modern masculinity and challenging traditional ideas about manhood, organisers said in a statement.
Scheduled for Wednesday, 19 November 2025, at Filmhouse Cinemas, Admiralty Way, Lekki, the event will bring together thought leaders, innovators, and change-makers to spark conversations about emotional wellness, leadership, and social transformation.
Under the theme “Transforming Masculinity Through Infrastructure”, TEDx Admiralty Way aims to create a safe space for men to express vulnerability, develop emotional intelligence, and confront societal pressures. Organisers emphasise that masculinity is not about being a “hard guy”, but about balancing strength with empathy and purpose.
The event will feature a dynamic line-up of speakers, including H.E. Caleb Muftwang, Governor of Plateau State; Abubakar Suleiman, Managing Director of Sterling Bank; Tunde Onakoya, Founder of Chess in Slums Africa; Dr Maymunah Kadiri, Consultant Psychiatrist & Emotional Wellness Expert; Dr Toyosi Akerele-Ogunsiji, Founder of Rise Networks; and other leaders in entrepreneurship, social impact, and wellness.
Speaking on the significance of the event, the organising team said, “This is about rebuilding the systems that teach boys who they’re allowed to be and helping men everywhere rediscover balance and purpose. We want to nurture a generation of men who lead with empathy, strength, and inclusivity.”
The programme also offers opportunities for community engagement, networking, and skill-building, welcoming parents, educators, leaders, and anyone interested in fostering social change. For those unable to attend in person, virtual tickets are available via Quilo.
TEDx Admiralty Way 2025 is convened by Kelechi Nwaozuzu and Obinna Ukachukwu, with sponsorship from brands including Cafe One, Filmhouse Cinemas, Sterling Bank, Coca-Cola, Red Bull, Hollandia, and others, all committed to promoting conversations that redefine masculinity and inspire meaningful action.
