Ladoja Appoints 22 Mogajis, Baales, Urges Them To Take Security Seriously

The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, Arusa 1, has appointed 14 Mogaji and 8 Baale for Ibadanland, urging them as community leaders to take the security of their communities very seriously.

The first-class monarch stated this on Monday at the installation of Mogajis and Baales at the Olubadan Palace, Oja’ba, Ibadan.

A release signed by his Media Aide, Chief Adeola Oloko, and made available to New Telegraph, noted that the installation of Mogajis and Baales was the first since Olubadan’s coronation last September 26.

According to Oba Ladoja, “As family compound and community Heads at Ibadan city and Ibadan less city areas, I am sure you are aware that one of the greatest challenges facing Nigeria is the issue of security. As grassroots leaders, you need to be vigilant about what is happening in your environment.

“If it were for glamour alone, this installation exercise would not have been necessary. But it is well because of the responsibility attached to it that we are here to formalise your appointment as Mogajis and Baales”.

Saying security is everybody’s business, Oba Ladoja, who is also the Chairman, Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs, urged the newly appointed chiefs to share information, collaborate and network with their next-door neighbours on how best to ensure the safety and security of lives and property of the people under their watch.

The Olubadan urged them to sensitise the youths on the need to join the security agencies like the Police, the Armed Forces, the Security and Civil Defence, etc. during times of recruitment.

Oba Ladoja stated further that Ibadan would not stop the on- going crack-down on land grabbers as they also constitute a threat to security.

At the installation ceremony,14 Mogajis and 8 Baales were appointed in accordance with the Oyo State Chiefs law and Ibadan Chieftaincy Declaration.

In attendance with Olubadan at the installation ceremony were Oba Tajudeen Ajibola, Balogun of Ibadan; Oba Eddy Oyewole, Otun Olubadan; Oba Kola Adegbola, Otun Balogun; Oba Abiodun Kola-Daisi, Osi Olubadan; Oba Abiodun Azeez Agagagugu, Asipa Balogun; Oba Adebayo Akande, Ekerin Olubadan; High Chief Akim Adewoyin, Ekerin Balogun; High Chief Sarafadeen Alli, Ekarun Balogun.
