Ladi Williams Premieres New Single ‘Lagos Nights’ In Washington D.C

A Nigerian-United States-based Multidisciplinary writer, public thinker, and leadership counsellor, James Ladi Williams, also known as The JLW, has premiered his new single ‘Lagos Nights’ at Shanklin Hall in Washington, D.C., United States of America.

James, who spoke on the rationale behind the song, said uneasy lies Lagos life, ranging from consistent heavy traffic and money requests from different angles.

According to him, the state still stands undeterred as the most exciting and homely.

He described his song as fun-filled and introspective, inspired by moments of gratitude to God.

Williams explained that the song is a simple, thankful record aimed at worshipping God, asking for grace and thanking him for blessing Nigerians with the ability to find joy despite the challenges life throws at us in Lagos or anywhere else.

He hinted that his journaling practice, with the sounds brought to life by the musical genius of Mizzle and the leadership, creativity and vocal excellence of the Holy Trinity Anglican Church choir, Ebute-Ero, Lagos, powered the inspiration of the song.

“Life in Lagos is not easy; the hustle never really stops. And we get many things that make people vex- from endless traffic to bills from every angle.

“Yet, Lagos remains the most exciting city in the world, and truly, there is no place like home. Lagos Nights is a fun, introspective afrobeats record inspired by moments of gratitude to God.

“It is a simple, thankful record aimed at worshipping God, asking for grace and thanking him for blessing us with the ability to find joy despitethe  challenges life throws at us in Lagos or anywhere else.

“The track is powered by my journaling practice, with the sounds brought to life by the musical genius of Mizzle and the leadership, creativity and vocal excellence of the Holy Trinity Anglican Church choir, Ebute-Ero, Lagos.” He said.
