Kwara Police Lead Joint Show Of Force, Tighten Security


The Kwara State Police Command on Saturday, April 4, 2026, conducted a joint Show of Force operation across key areas of the state as part of its efforts in ensuring heightened security throughout the Easter period.

The operation, which reflects the Command’s proactive security strategy, was carried out in collaboration with sister security agencies, including the Department of State Services (DSS), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), and the Kwara State Road Traffic Management Agency (KWARTMA).

This strategic exercise according to the police follows the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, aimed at strengthening public safety and ensuring robust security coverage before, during, and after the Easter celebration period.

Also, as part of these efforts, security personnel and operational assets have been deployed across the state.

“The Show of Force is designed not only to reassure residents of the Command’s preparedness but also to send a clear and unequivocal warning that Kwara State will not serve as a safe haven for criminal elements.

“CP Ojo Adekimi psc(+), mnips, extends his sincere appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, for his visionary leadership and continued support. He also commends all participating sister security agencies for their professionalism, synergy, and dedication demonstrated during the Show of Force exercise.

“The Command remains resolute in sustaining these security measures beyond the festive period to ensure lasting peace and stability across Kwara State,” the police said.
