KWAM1’s Ambition Hits Dead-end As Jadiara Royal House Disowns Fuji Artist – Leadership Newspapers

Dreams and aspiration of popular Fuji music icon, Otunba Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly referred to as KWAM1 of becoming the next Awujale of Ijebu-Ode and Paramount ruler of Ijebuland, may have reached a dead end as the Jadiara Royal Family has denied any genealogical linkage with him.

A statement issued in Ijebu Ode by the family, dated December 7, 2025, and signed by the head of the family, Olori-Ebi Jadiara Royal House, Otunba Prince Akinola Odedina, expressly dissociated the Jadiara Royal House, a unit of the Fusengbuwa Ruling Family, which is to produce the next Awujale, from any archaeological, known docummented records or oral history with the Fuji musician.

The statement, copies of which were forwarded to the Ogun State government through the State’s Commissioner in the Ministry of Local Governments and Chieftaincy Affairs, office of the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice; the Executive Chairman and Secretary of Ijebu-Ode Local Government; the Chairman, Awujale Interregnum Administration Council, specifically urged the chairman of Fusengbuwa Ruling Family to abstain from any dealings with KWAM1 on the consideration of any genealogical eligibility to the Awujale throne, or any other family linkage with the Fusengbuwa Ruling House.

Odedina in the statement titled “Otunba Wasiu Ayinde Anifowose (MON)”, explained that it became necessary to release the information about KWAM1’s genealogical linkage with the family in view of the public interest which the matter has generated.

“The Chairman of Fusengbuwa Ruling House may have rightly given him a nomination form to complete, expecting him to get his root to Jadiara Royal House authenticated.

“I can say categorically that Wasiu has no genealogical linkage with the Jadiara Royal House. We in Jadiara Royal House have waited for him to show up with his form and whatever documents he may have to prove his linkage to Jadiara Royal House. He is yet to show up.”

Odedina in the statement, however, promised to get the family and the general public informed as the matter continued to unfold.
