Hon. Ibrahim Mohammed, a member of the House of Representatives representing Birnin Kebbi, Kalgo and Bunza Federal Constituency, has formally resigned from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), citing persistent leadership crises and internal conflicts within the party.
In a statement announcing his decision, the lawmaker said the PDP has been grappling with unresolved leadership challenges and prolonged litigations, which have significantly weakened its capacity to function as a credible political platform.
He noted that the situation within the party has made it increasingly difficult for committed members to effectively contribute to its growth and democratic responsibilities.
The lawmaker further disclosed that, following wide consultations with his constituents and key political stakeholders, he has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to him, the decision to join the APC was taken in the best interest of his constituents and to enhance his ability to deliver effective representation.
He confirmed that his resignation letter has been duly submitted to the PDP Ward Chairman in Nasarawa 1 Ward, while the Speaker of the House of Representatives has also been formally notified of his defection.
