Kebbi Announces New Deadline For Registration


On Tuesday, the Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Agency announced it has set a new deadline for the registration of intending pilgrims for the 2025 Hajj.

This was contained in a press statement issued by the Executive Chairman of the Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Alhaji Faruk Aliyu Yaro, Jagaban Gwandu.

Following the announcement, the deadline for registration has been fixed for February 5, 2025, in accordance with the adjustments made by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).

The adjustment by NAHCON mandates state Pilgrim’s Welfare Boards and Agencies to remit all collections by 1st February 2025, prompting the change in the registration deadline.

The statement further disclosed that more than 60% of the allocation for this year’s Hajj has already been processed since the commencement of the registration in September 2024, with only 40% remaining.

The statement urged intending pilgrims to take advantage of the remaining time and make their deposits before the new deadline to ensure their participation in the upcoming Hajj.

“Intending pilgrims are required to make a deposit of Eight Million, Four Hundred Thousand Naira (N8,400,000.00) only via a bank draft from any commercial bank, payable to the Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Agency.”

“The registration will be conducted on a first-come, first-served basis, adhering to the principle of fairness in service delivery.”

The statement also revealed that intending pilgrims who had previously made deposits but were unable to participate in past Hajj exercises must top up their payments to reach the minimum deposit before the 5th February deadline to secure their seats.

It further revealed the agency’s commitment to improving services to registered intending pilgrims, promising that new strategies will be implemented to enhance the overall Hajj experience.
